The serious fire that occurred at the Cimuning LPG Bulk Filling Station (SPBE), Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City, West Java (Jabar), left a number of people injured. The incident which also set fire to the homes of nearby residents is currently under investigation by police.

The fire occurred on Wednesday (1/4) around 9:30 p.m. WIB. The fire was only extinguished after six hours, to be precise at 03:45 WIB, Thursday (2/4).
The fire that broke out in the gas cylinder filling plant triggered a series of fairly large explosions. The fire broke out near a residential area, so several residents’ houses around the SPBE area were affected by the fire.
A total of 9 fire trucks were deployed to the scene of the fire at Jalan Cinyosog, Bantar Gebang, Cimuning, Mustika Jaya District, Bekasi City.

The fire at SPBE Cimuning spread to residential areas. Dozens of residents’ homes were burned following the incident.
“15 residential houses (RT02 RW003), 4 residential houses, 2 kiosks (RT 01 RW 003),” Acting Head of Damkar Department of Bekasi City Heryanto told reporters on Thursday (2/4).
Meanwhile, the Bekasi City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded the damage to residents’ houses. A prayer room was also affected by the fire.

“The number of victims is 17 people. Indeed, some of the burns accounted for more than 50 percent,” said Bekasi City Metro Police Chief Commissioner Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro at Citra Arrafiq Hospital in Bekasi, Thursday (2/4).
The victims treated were F (30) with 18 percent burns, S (17) with 63 percent burns, D (25) with 27 percent burns, and W and A who did not suffer burns but were still under medical observation.
The victims were treated in several hospitals, including 5 people at Citra Arafiq Hospital, 2 people at Bekasi District Hospital, 3 people at Satria Media Hospital, 1 person at Unimedika Hospital, then 2 people were treated at Bekasi Municipal Hospital and another 2 people were treated at Kartika Husada Hospital.

Acting Head of the Bekasi City Disdamkarmat, Heryanto in Bekasi, West Java, revealed that the fire in the Cimuning SPBE area was believed to have started due to a gas leak at the scene.
