FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — The motor vehicle theft that has disturbed residents of Makassar City and its surrounding areas has finally come to light.

Two men suspected of being the main perpetrators of a motorcycle theft gang did not move when they were arrested by the police after having long been the target of an operation.

The two authors each bore the initials JS alias DT (25 years old) and AD (30 years old). It is known that they have acted dozens of times in the Makassar and Gowa Regency regions.

Two perpetrators arrested

This arrest was confirmed by the head of the criminal investigation unit of the Tamalate police, Abdul Latif.

“The two arrested people are perpetrators linked to the theft,” said Inspector Abdul Latif, Thursday (19/3/2026).

Both are now detained at Tamalate police headquarters to face legal action.

Arrested in two different locations

The arrest process began when the Resmob Team of the Tamalate Police secured DT in the Majene area, West Sulawesi, Tuesday (17/3/2026).

Based on the results of the developing situation, the police then acted quickly and successfully arrested AD in Makassar City.

Method of targeting motorcycles in pensions

In carrying out their actions, the perpetrators were known to target pension areas considered to offer great opportunities.

“So he had a method of stealing motorcycles, and then he searched the boarding houses where he had a chance of being executed immediately,” Latief said.

“The ones we usually take are the ones that don’t block the neck, so if one fits, there’s the ignition key on the motorcycle,” he added.

Motorcycles that are not locked with the handlebars or still have the ignition key installed are easy targets for criminals.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
