Fajar.co.id, jakarta – Giving amnesty or forgiveness to the Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of the struggle, Hasto Kristiento received a response from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The KPK said it would first study the orders of the DPR and the Head of State.

“We first learn the information. Although the legal process is also being executed, the process of submission of a call,” KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said on Thursday (07/31/2025).

Budi said that KPK’s decision was currently attractive to the sentence of 3.5 years in prison in the case of corruption of members of the Inter-time change process (PAW) of the House of Representatives who took the absence of Hasto Kristiyanto. However, the decision could change if Hasto’s amnesty had been studied.

For more information, the Indonesian Parliament has just taken a consultation meeting with the government linked to the examination of the letter from the President of the Republic of Indonesia concerning the granting of abolition to amnesty. The DPR gave approval of the letter submitted by the government.

The president of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Setyo Budiyanto, stressed that the Head of State had not crossed his limits in politics. “It is the authority of the president in accordance with the 1945 Constitution,” said Setyo thanks to a written declaration on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Setyo said the president has the right to forgive anyone. Including Hasto, which was taken in a case of corruption in the intermittent change process (PAW) of DPR members.

Previously, the Corruption Court of the District Court of Jakarta Central said that Hasto Kristiyanto was guilty and had proven that he had welded the paw process of DPR members for Masaraku Masku. The panel of judges sentenced to a prison sentence to Hasto Kristiyanto for 3.5 years.
