FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The puzzle of new recruitment opportunities and salary increases for state civil servants (ASN) in 2026 has finally been revealed.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has opened the possibility of increasing the salaries of ASN and state civil servants (PNS) in 2026.

“There is always a possibility, but we don’t know how many chances there are,” Purbaya said, answering questions from reporters at the Finance Ministry office in Jakarta last Tuesday.

The reason is that the majority of the fiscal capacity in the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) 2026 is oriented towards national priority programs, so the government has not carried out a study on policies for civil servants.

At the same time, the government continues to finalize the project to implement a single remuneration system for the ASN in order to simplify income elements while improving the well-being of civil servants.

Budget Director of Economy and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Tri Budhianto said on Friday (10/10) that the single salary system is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that ASN income rights are granted fully and transparently.

The Ministry of Finance is also diligently coordinating with the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) to discuss the technical design of system implementation.

Concerning the increase in ASN salaries, he clarified that to date, no official decision has been taken for the 2026 financial year.

From a budget planning perspective, the government will take into account the priorities of the APBN to determine salary increase policies.

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has dismissed 26 employees of the General Directorate of Taxes (DJP). Economic observer Hermanto Sardan believes that this is not enough.

“Clean up DJP employees, don’t just fire them, punish them too!” said Hermanto, quoted in his upload to X, Thursday (09/10/2025).

He also highlighted the number of employees laid off. According to him, this figure still remains low compared to the number of DJP employees.

“If there were only 26 people, the public would think it was just entertainment and not a cleaning activity. Out of thousands of DJP employees, this number is very small,” he said.

According to Hermanto, it is common knowledge that DJP has many dirty practices.

“It is common knowledge that this institution has many mafias, they have different ways of playing, they are smart people in their field, so they are very skilled in playing,” he said.

“I myself would be happy to inform the general manager if I have any information about corrupt DJP employees!”

Earlier, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa opened up to journalists. Concerning the reasons for the dismissal of the 26 DJP employees.

“Maybe he (the director general of taxes) found people who were receiving money, who could no longer be forgiven. Yes, they were fired,” Purbaya said in his office at the Finance Ministry.

He admitted that he supported the dismissal action.

“We are cleaning up there. The message is this, to other tax friends. This is no longer the time to play,” he concluded.
