The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) provides the latest report on the health status of residents affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra.
Data as of December 3, 2025 shows the three most common health conditions. The following data is compiled from the Ministry of Health website:
Priority healthcare is provided from emergency services which include health checks, administration of basic medications and treatment of wounds.
Apart from this, disease control is also carried out such as fogging, disinfection of flooded areas and wearing masks.

The head of the Health Crisis Center, Agus Jamaludin, said the high number of fever cases indicated that environmental and living conditions had not fully recovered after the disaster.
“Fever is the fastest growing problem after floods, especially when evacuation sites are crowded and access to clean water is limited. This is also due to inadequate body protection during evacuation,” he explained.
In addition to the reported illnesses, post-flood conditions can potentially cause an increase in dengue and leptospirosis cases, as stagnant waters left by floods can become a breeding ground for dengue-causing mosquitoes.

Flooding also causes water contamination and the distribution of rat or other animal urine into evacuation areas, which can increase the risk of leptospirosis.
