Motorcycle thieves in Waruduwur Village, Mundu District, Cirebon Regency, West Java intervened during Eid. The two perpetrators were arrested and attacked by the crowd.
Reported by detikJabar, Sunday (22/3/2026) a video showing the incident circulated in messaging application groups. In the recording, it appears that two men were arrested by residents with their hands tied with rope.
Angry residents expressed their emotions because the attacker acted during Eid. Both were beaten.
“Bada-bada ana motorcycle thief (Eid there are motorcycle thieves),” one of the residents shouted as heard in the video.

Mundu Police Chief AKP Didi Sumardi said his party moved to the location after receiving information from the public regarding the incident. The incident occurred at 09:00 WIB.
“The officers immediately went to the scene to secure the attacker and evacuate the two of them who were injured due to the crowd’s rampage, then transported to the hospital,” he said on Saturday (21/3/2026).
The incident began when the victim’s motorcycle was parked in front of the house with the keys still hanging. The attacker took advantage of this opportunity to come on another motorcycle and take the motorcycle away.

The victim, who realized that his motorcycle had been confiscated, immediately called for help. This cry immediately attracted the attention of local residents who then spontaneously gave chase until they managed to catch the two attackers.
