The war between the United States, Israel and Iran has impacted a number of international flights at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali. A number of passengers admitted they were confused and were forced to extend their stay in Bali without prior planning.
One of them is Marlene and her husband, a Dutch couple on their honeymoon in Bali. Both plan to return to their hometown after enjoying a few days of vacation. However, flight cancellations forced them to seek alternative transportation as this required transit in Doha.
“We tried to look for new flights around the Middle East. But the flights are very expensive and very long. So we thought we would be here for a few days,” Marlene said, as reported by detikBaliMonday (02/03/2026).

Marlene admitted she consulted Qatar Airways customer service for clarification. However, according to him, no concrete solution has been proposed.
The same thing happened to Tyrah, a Kenyan tourist who was alone on vacation in Bali for 10 days. His flight to Kenya, scheduled to depart today, had to be canceled because the flight route required transit through Kuala Lumpur and Doha.
Tirah contacted the airline’s customer service. However, they were not given any solution other than to wait for further information.
“They just told me to keep checking their official page on Twitter and then I will see if the flight will be rescheduled. But they can’t give a guarantee. So I just have to wait and keep checking,” he replied.
