Responding to the Needs of Flood Victims in Difficult Times, DPR RI Sends 15 Tons of Basic Materials



FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Distribution of aid to flood-affected residents in West Sumatra, North Sumatra and Aceh continues.

Now, 15 tons of basic necessities and emergency supplies have been sent to Padang, West Sumatra; Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra; and Aceh.

This aid comes from the DPR RI. The aid was delivered directly by DPR RI Deputy Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta. Aid was sent by cargo plane on Sunday (11/30).

Dasco said the DPR is committed to acting quickly to help people who are going through difficult times. In this way, the basic needs of refugees can be met.

“The People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia has handed over aid to Sumatra, in the form of air cargo that will be delivered to brothers and sisters who have experienced disasters. Which today and tomorrow will be sent to the center of Tapanuli, Padang and Aceh,” said Dasco.

This Gerindra Party politician said that the delivery of logistical aid would be escorted by the Vice President of the DPR RI, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal, who also visited the scene of the disaster. Dasco said this assistance comes in the form of basic necessities and emergency equipment for victims.

“The contents of the cargo are various things, there are sarongs, sanitary napkins, Pop Noodles, blankets, biscuits, for all our brothers and sisters, bismillahirrahmanirrahim,” he added.

Dasco hopes that this assistance from the DPR can bring relief and benefits to disaster-affected communities. He prayed that the disaster would pass quickly.
