Iran launches missile attacks on Tel Aviv and surrounding areas. Israeli emergency services treated five injured people.
Reported on Sunday (05/04/2026), the Israeli military said that since midnight, eight waves of Iranian missiles had been launched towards Israel. The army also detected missiles fired from Yemen, the fifth attack against Israel from that country.
Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom said a 45-year-old man was treated for minor injuries caused by broken glass in the central Israeli town of Bnei Brak. The victim was taken to hospital.
Rescuers later said they treated three additional victims: two men in their 20s hit by flying glass and one person injured by the explosion.
Emergency services added that a 52-year-old man, “slightly injured by the shock wave”, was also transferred to a hospital in Ramat Gan, in central Israel.
In the residential district of Ramat Gan, AFP images show the top floor of a house completely destroyed. The interior of the house was gutted, with crushed shelves and a stationary bike among the rubble.
Numerous impact marks were visible on the walls.
Nearby, another house was largely destroyed, its exterior walls having been torn off, according to AFP photos.
“This is all due to the shrapnel,” Joy Frankel, a social worker near one of the affected sites, told AFP.
According to several local media, including the Times of Israel, a cluster missile fired from Iran on Saturday morning landed near the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv, not far from the Defense Ministry.
Police also said missile debris fell on East Jerusalem, causing no casualties.
The military says its air defense works to shoot down missiles fired from Iran as soon as it announces the arrival of projectiles.
In a separate statement, the army said a rocket was fired from Lebanon, but the launch was not detected due to a malfunction in the warning system.
The rocket landed in an open area and caused no casualties.
The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has launched daily rockets into northern Israel since entering the war on March 2.
Since February 28, the United States and Israel have carried out joint attacks against Iran, prompting the Islamic Republic to retaliate with daily missile attacks targeting Israel and several neighboring countries in the region.
